Watershed Management Group International (WMGi) is committed to empowering communities desiring assistance around the globe to take action. Daily water usage in some parts of the world is less than one tenth of the average usage in North America. In these communities utilizing rainwater capturing systems for common household water use can significantly impact quality of life. Our community education programs in water and sanitation can save lives by preventing common waterborne illnesses. WMG aims to make a lasting impact in these communities through targeted assessment, training through implementation and ongoing monitoring to improve local soil and water.

To ensure that our efforts lead to meaningful and lasting positive results we look for these characteristics in each of our international programs:

• diverse representatives from the community are active participants
• the community is invested in the program's goals and objectives
• educational and outreach components are an integral part of the program
• the program embraces an integrative design goal
